We Are
Sheltering Our Sisters
About the Project
Sheltering Our Sisters is an organization that has two primary objectives. The first is to: provide basic necessity items like feminine hygiene products, toiletries, and clothing to women who are forced to seek protection at battered women’s shelters and homeless shelters because of their personal circumstances. The second is to provide information and raise awareness around domestic violence. Currently Sheltering Our Sisters has reached out to Oasis: A Haven for Women and Children and Lighthouse Center for Hope and Safety, both of which have requested more donated goods for their clients. The organization will function as a hub for women’s aid and information as we will work to collect donated products from the larger community.
Sheltering Our Sisters aims to aid women, especially those in battered women’s shelters and homeless shelters, in getting access to basic necessities, such as feminine hygiene products, toiletries, baby goods, and other toiletries. Donations will be made in the form of items, especially the ones which our shelters need more of. These donations will be sent to various local women’s shelters, including Oasis: A Haven for Women and Children, Lighthouse Center for Hope and Safety, and more. Furthermore, Sheltering Our Sisters aims to increase awareness and provide information regarding domestic violence and who people can contact for help.
